I get to relax, jam out to my favorite music, drink free coffee and get beautified all at the same time. The salon is full by beautiful artwork by the Austin legend and my good friend, Kate Kearns and a collection of sleek furniture that I wish I had in my house.
I don’t just love coming here to see my friend Hayley, all twelve of the Shag stylists are professional, friendly, and always welcoming. It’s one big family here at Shag Salon, and I’m always happy to visit.
The Cherry on Top
A hot towel face wrap while my conditioner set in. I could smell it the moment she took it out of the steamer. The mixture of the seven Melaleuca essential oils smell like straight heaven. As she gently pressed her palms into relaxing pressure points on my face I drifted off into another place for a few minutes. Suddenly the humming of hair dryers and quiet small talk of other clients and stylists is somehow soothing.
Ladies, if you come to see Hayley and you don’t have make-up on, she’ll hook you up… and it’s worth it. Men, it’s luckily part of your process, so you get a hot face mask at each visit.
I HATE CUTTING MY HAIR!
I don’t want to say that Hayley forces me to trim my hair, but it’s definitely a compromise I allow this compromise to occur because I know that she is doing what’s best for my hair. #hairlove
Just a little snip, snip, snip and a deep Kevin Murphy “Treat Me” formula and I feel like a million bucks. In forty-five minutes it feels like I’m transformed from my normal hippie chick self with dread-like pieces of multi-colored hair into a luscious HEALTHY mermaid princess. Good stuff.
I’m happy and my hair is happy. Thank you, Shag Salon!
