As an expert colorist, he prides himself in finding ways to be as gentle as possible and insists on the safest approaches to hair dyeing. This involves gradual and mild iterations, which is why it could take Slava up to 6 hours to take someone from brunette to blonde. His arsenal includes the most advanced highlighting, balayage and shatush technologies and professional products. When a client arrives with dull, brittle or breaking hair caused by chemical, thermal, and mechanical damages, Slava strives to treat it with Olaplex and other moisturizing masks and treatments to ensure that compromised hair is restored. His coloring comes with a breakage insurance!
Born and raised in a small town in foothills of Ural mountains in Russia, Slava started cutting hair as an apprentice in a busy neighborhood salon in 2004 at age of 16. He was trained by stylists with 30 years of experience. By 17 he already had loyal clientele, mostly seniors who paid $1 for their haircuts. He became a barber first, and then left his hometown for the best Academy in Russia in St. Petersburg. He graduated from a world renown Pivot Point Academy at the age 19 with a specialty in coloring. After graduation from the Academy he started to train at the Russian national team of hairdressing and won a 2nd place in the Russian Championship for technical color. He represented Russia at the European Hairdressing Championship where he also came in 5nd in all of Europe in technical coloring. After moving to Moscow, Slava trained, got certified and perfected his techniques at the top European academies: Toni & Guy, Mazella & Palmer, Romeo Felipe and Authentica. He worked for 9 years at a famous Moscow salon that opened in 1956, where all of his clients were regulars that trusted only Slava with their cuts, coloring and blowouts for special occasions.
In 2018 Slava immigrated to the US and settled in Austin. He loves his new home, and has built up a taste for tacos and cold waters of Barton Springs pool. New chapter of his life began at Shag Salon Austin!
